But you need to go beyond these characteristics and pay attention to the alloy pipes first. Alloy pipe components

The chemical composition of alloy pipes also determines which industry will use them. For example, alloy steel pipes under ASTM A335 – ASME SA335 specifications come with a “P” prefix. You will see power stations using these alloy pipes. On the other hand, the petrochemical industry may use alloy pipes with different specifications. It’s always best to discuss the specifications and respective chemical compositions of different alloy pipes before ordering them. P9 and P91 grades are the most expensive. They are also one of the heaviest pipes around.
Testing requirements

Some of the most common tests applicable for alloy pipes are hardness test, bend test, and tension and flattening test. The tests also vary according to the pipes that require heat treatment. Additionally, the pipes should also undergo hydro testing. This testing is done along the lengths of the pipes to check whether water passes smoothly or not. Some suppliers also perform a non-destructive electric test, but that’s usually optional.
